Foundation Christian Academy strives to provide programs that will help cultivate our student's artistic talents. All of our students attend an art class taught by a professional on a weekly basis. Our Elementary students are encouraged to express their individuality and are able to participate in a variety of art projects. An example of these projects is creating models of hot air balloons by using paper mache.
The Elementary art program provides a variety of opportunities to explore and manipulate artistic mediums to enrich each student's life while allowing for discovery and creative problem solving. The students will be introduced to the principles and elements of design through a variety of projects while being encouraged as well as challenged to perform to the best of their God-given ability. The students will develop a broader understanding of their environment and a greater understanding of historical and cultural influences upon creativity. Elementary art students will learn to convey ideas, feelings and emotions through their own artistic creations while learning to appreciate the ideas and abilities of others.

Music plays a very important role in the life of students at Foundation Christian Academy. Our goal is to glorify God by engendering in our students a love of music, an appreciation for beauty as expressed through music, and by developing the God-given talents of each student. The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten years are exploration years in music. Students learn to sing simple songs and play small instruments such as rhythm sticks. Concepts taught include echoing melodies, keeping a steady beat, recognizing simple rhythms and moving with the music. During the 1st – 3rd grade years, students are developing their singing voices. They also learn how to read music. Concepts include the staff and key signatures.

Strike up the Band
We now have two sessions of band under the instruction of Mr. Charlie Abston. Students that were enrolled at FCA last year and in fourth through sixth grade make up our intermediate band. These students include: Jacob Whitson, Jonathan Oliver, Abbey Dickerson, Sydney Noffsinger, Moriah Daughtery, Reily Booker and Ashton McBrayer.
Our beginner's band members include: Ian Fleischman, Madison Pardue, Alex Pardue, Catherine Cowles, Caitlin Hardin and Josie Hickman.

Visual Arts education is a necessary part of educating the whole person and is taught at FCA with the personal, social and cultural significance of the visual arts in mind. We want students to mature artistically through direct technical, conceptual, and creative involvement with a variety of medium, with the opportunity to display their work and receive constructive criticism.
The Visual Arts utilizes God-given gifts such as the senses, imagination, knowledge and judgement. Visual Art offers a framework for seeing and grasping the world around us and provides expressive outlets for ideas and emotions as people respond to their God, others, the environment and themselves. Visual Art is a fundamental form of human experience and expression.
Our program is discipline-based, meaning that we focus on the four disciplines of art-- art production, art history, aesthetics, and art criticism. Students will be exploring a variety of media. They will be exploring drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Students in Middle School Art with get a basic understanding of the Elements of Art and the Principles of Art. Students will also learn about important artists and their influence on the world around us. Furthermore, students will be learning to take a closer look at the world God created and will be representing it through creative means.
We want our students to pursue excellence in their music-making and to create wonderfully as God created wonderfully. The Bible has much to say about music and its purpose for humanity. FCA desires for its students to grapple with these elements as well as to develop his or her talent to its full potential. We want students to remember that music is a way to offer thanks to God for all that He has given us. Music is a gift enjoyed by God and also by the makers of the musical praises themselves. Whether or not students intend to pursue music as a vocation, we seek to equip them with technical skills essential for reading, interpreting, and performing music as well as an understanding of both musical history and theory.
At Foundation Christian Academy, students have the privilege of studying music with the knowledge of the truth that it was created and given to us by God, and to explore all the implications of that truth. Here at FCA, students have the unique opportunity to be prepared physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually for a life of music-making.
